Birthday week – feeling great
While the week did not start off the best as far as physical workouts go, it ended up strong with many on our team making great progress. I look back on how excited Oliver was with learning to block the axe kick and watching a couple of others get the step in defense for straight back and it makes me smile.
I am very proud of Mary, who after a bit of a stumble at the weeks beginning, really put it together by the end of the week. strength, balance, forms, sparring – it just it good to see it coming together for her.
In regard to myself – good news on my knee – no major issues, just some special care to be taken. My hip is the same as before and I have an appointment with the doctor in September. But after hearing the description of the operation, I really think I will need to be in a great deal more pain to go through that. Nonetheless training is going well and I may have to concentrate on the ground game more and let others demonstrate the high flying stuff.
Could I be in a happier place? I don’t think so. I am training well. I have some good friends around me doing the same. I am going to Kenya in a week or so to do good work. Life is good.
